SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT IN TURKEY:PAST, PRESENT AND THE FUTURE

A planned activity within the national IDNDR plan in Turkey has been ۱۰ update the earthquake zones map of the country which is used as an intrinsic part of the building design code. This paper describes the antecedents of the map currently in ise, and outlines how the draft new map was generated. A recent innovation has been the adoption of probabilistic procedures in describing the various zones. We offer a description of these procedures.
