GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES IN SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT

A recent trend in the global practice of seismic hazard assessment is the establishment of regional and global programs based on the multidisciplinary cooperation of seismologists, geologists and engineers. We review problems and limitations in the practice of seismic hazard assessment and present a survey of global and regional cooperative programs in multinational and multidisciplinary seismic hazard assessment.
