چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Nosocomial infection is an important cause of mortality in neonatal and NICU wards.continuous monitoring and care for microbial contamination of these wards is one of the effective strategies to prevent nosocomial infections. The aim of this study was to determine the bacterial contamination of equipment in the neonatal and NICU wards of shahid Beheshti Hospital in IsfahanMethods : In a descriptive study of ۶۳ devices in the neonatal and NICU departmens sampling was performed before and after routin disinfction ,samples were taken with a sterile swab impregnated with TSB medium and placed inside a tube containing TSB.Identification of isolates was performed first by conventional biochemical tests and then by ۱۶SrRNA gene amplification and molecular sequencing Results : Of the ۶۳ items before disinfection, ۳۸ (۶۰.۳% )were positive for bacterial contamination . of the ۶۳ items after disinfection, ۱۲ (۱۹.۰۴% )were positive for bacterial contamination. The most abundant bacterial isolate before and after disinfection Negative coagulase Staphylococcus respectively inabundance (۵۷.۱۴% )and (۱۹.۰۴% ) was .The highest contamination of non-medical devices before and after disinfection related to the patients cartable is ۱۰۰ and ۵۰ respectively and the highest contamination of medical devices before and afte disinfection related to the Lrayngoscope blade is ۱۰۰ and ۵۰ respectivelyConclusion : This study showed that bacterial contaminatin is significant .Periodic culture and use of standard guidelines and prevention have an effective rolein reducing contamination
