Study of antimicrobial effect of ethanol extract of Cnicus benedictus and Parietaria judaica, on the bacteria A.baumannii and S.aureus

چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Infectious diseases caused by resistant infectious agents have led to serious complications.This study was designed to determine the antimicrobial efficacy of the hydroalcoholic extracts of Cnicus benedictus and Parietaria judaica against Staphylococcus aureus and Acinetobacter baumannii. Methods : hydro alcoholic extract of medicinal plant collected from The scope of Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari; Extraction produced by soaking method then The MIC values and MBC of the Cnicus benedictus and Parietaria judaica extract against the bacterial strains Staphylococcus aureus ATCC ۲۵۹۲۳, Acinetobacter baumannii PTCC ۱۸۵۵) were determined by a micro broth dilution method based on instructions CLSI.Results : The MIC value for the hydro alcoholic extract of Cnicus benedictus was ۴ mg/mL for Acinetobacter baumannii and ۲ mg/mL for S. aureus. The MIC value of the ethanol extract of Parietaria judaica was ۴ mg/mL for Acinetobacter baumannii and ۴ mg/mL for S. aureus. The MBC value of the ethanol extract of Cnicus benedictus was ۸ mg/ml for S. aureos and ۸ mg/ml for A. baumannii. The MBC value of the ethanol extract of Parietaria judaica was ۱۶ mg/ml for S. aureos and ۱۶ mg/ml for A. baumannii. Conclusion : According to antibacterial effects of alcoholic extracts, The best inhibitory effect on S. aureus for Cnicus benedictus and The best inhibitory effect on A. baumannii for Parietaria judaica. the necessity of further research on this plant in order to extract its effective compounds and its effects on a variety of pathogens is suggested.
