چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : K.pneumoniae and E. coli are two important bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. Which have become resistant to β-lactam antibiotics by obtaining plasmids encoding β-lactamases. This study was designed to investigate the effect of vaborbactam on ESBL producing strains. Methods : Antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed on ۱۶۵ strains of K. pneumoniae and E. coli using the disk diffusion method. The abundance of genes related to ESBL was assessed by PCR. . The effect of vaborbactam on ESBL producing strain was performed by the combined disk method. Results : Our results showed that out of ۷۵ strains of K. pneumoniae, ۳۰ (۴۰%) were ESBL-producing, of which blaSHV gene in ۲۹ strains (۹۶.۶%), blaCTX-M gene in ۲۳ strains (۷۶.۶%) and blaTEM gene in ۲۰ strains (۶۶.۶%) were identified. Of ۹۰ E. coli strains, ۳۷ strains (۴۱.۱%) produced ESBL, of which blaTEM gene in ۳۶ strains (۹۷.۲%), blaCTX-M gene in ۳۱ strains (۸۳.۷%) and blaSHV gene in ۱۱ strains (۲۹.۷%) Were identified.. The results of phenotypic study of the effect of vaborbactam on ESBL strain in K. pneumoniae were as follows: the total resistance to ceftazidime and cefotaxime from ۴۸ (۶۴%) and ۴۶ (۶۱.۳%) to ۲۲ (۲۹.۳%) and ۲۳ (۳۰.۶%) respectively decreased. This decrease in E. coli was from ۷۶ (۸۴.۴%) and ۸۱ (۹۰%) to ۴۱ (۴۵.۵%) and ۴۱ (۴۵.۵%), respectively. Conclusion : As a result, our study provided valuable information regarding the vaborbactam inhibitor on ESBL producing strains.
