Investigating the effect of just-in-time production and comprehensive quality management on environmental sustainability with mediating role of green supply chain activities (case study: food industry in Tehran province)

In this study, the effect of just-in-time production, comprehensive quality management on environmental sustainability with the mediating role of green supply chain activities in companies active in the food industry in Tehran province was investigated. The research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive survey type. It is quantitative in terms of data nature and correlational in terms of data relationships .The statistical population of this study was managers and experts of companies active in the food industry in Tehran province with minimum bachelor's degree and ۵ years of work experience. According to the technique of the structural equation, the sample size was determined between ۵ and ۱۵ times the number of metrics, i.e., ۳۸۵ people. The sampling method in this study was stratified random sampling. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire whose validity was confirmed using the content and structure methods and its reliability was confirmed by estimating Cronbach's alpha coefficient .The structural equation technique in LISREL software was used to test the research hypotheses . The results of data analysis showed that just-in-time production, comprehensive quality management have a positive and direct effect on environmental sustainability with the mediating role of green supply chain activities.Green supply chain activities are also influenced by just-in-time production and comprehensive quality management.Just-in-time production also affects comprehensive quality management.-Comprehensive quality management plays a mediating role in the impact of just-in-time production on environmental sustainability and green supply chain activities. Green supply chain activities also play a mediating role in the impact of just-in-time production and comprehensive quality management on environmental sustainability.
