Hybrid Domestic Solar Water Heater/Desalinator System for Household Consumption

A new combination of HD desalination and solar water heater is presented in this paper that cansimultaneously supply the drinkable water and hot water demand of household consumer. Based onchanges that made in the unit configuration, water mass flow of humidifier is independent from watermass flow in dehumidifier that improves the gain ratio and minimizing the amount of discharge water. Inaddition, the proper design has been taken to locate the equipment under the solar collectors. Othercharacteristics of this unit are appropriate electrical heater as backup system and a flexible controller thatmake the system user friendly. Experimental rresults indicated that this unit is able to supply the demandof household consumers.
