Investigating the Role of Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Tourism Development in Qeshm Free Zone (A study based on Hierarchical Analysis Process Model)

Nowadays, the researchers emphasize on the effective role of entrepreneurship in economic development. Given that one of the aspects of economic development is the development of the tourism sector, by relying on innovation and by making changes at various economic, social and cultural and investment levels, it is possible to discover new markets and offer different products and services. Qeshm Free Zone is one of the regions that has the necessary capacities for tourism development in the Persian Gulf region. Due to the importance of tourism in Qeshm Island and providing development factors and removing the obstacles, we can achieve the above goals. However, there are always obstacles such as lack of adequate education, cultural differences and emigration. In this regard, the purpose of this research is to investigate the role of entrepreneurship in the sustainable development of tourism in the Qeshm Free Zone using a hierarchical analysis process model and provide working procedures for sustainable tourism development in this region. According to the results of the research, among the indicators under study, "tourism infrastructure" and "economic potential" play the largest role in the development of the region. In fact, the findings show that this region, despite having the capacity to become a model tourism region, lacks infrastructure and strong publicity as the main obstacles to achieving sustainable tourism. The existence of job opportunities, sports and recreational attractions and having natural attractions as strengths along with infrastructure investments, are among the most important approaches for the sustainable development of tourism in this region.
