Investigating the effect of family environment on students' sports participation

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the role of family environment on the level of students' participation in physical education. The present study is descriptive-correlational and applied with the purpose of field research. It was a descriptive-survey data collection. The research population included teachers of Guilan province (n = ۸۵۳). The research sampling method was according to PLS sampling (N = ۱۰۰). The instrument of this research was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity was reviewed and confirmed by ۱۵ professors and physical education experts. The reliability of the questionnaire was also confirmed based on the value of Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α = ۰.۸۵). According to the research findings, there is a positive and significant relationship between the family environment and the level of student participation. The results of Kolmogorov-Smirnov test showed that the significance level of all components was less than (α = ۰.۰۵), so the distribution of data was abnormal. As a result, the structural equation modeling method was used using PLS software. The output of the model for AVE was higher and equal to ۰.۵۰, which indicates the appropriateness of the convergent validity criterion (AVE. The structural model of the research had a strong fit, based on the value of Q۲, this model had a very strong predictive power, because the predictive power of all structures had the largest greater than ۰.۳۰.The overall fit of the model is acceptable and the index (SRMR = (NFI = ۰.۹۱); (RMS Theta = ۰.۱۰) was confirmed, accordingly, the overall fit of the model was confirmed.
