چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of guided oral presentation in developing Iranian pre-intermediate EFL learner’s speaking skill. In this study were selected from "New interchange ۱"written by Richards, ۲۰۱۳. It included sixteen units. In this study the first four units were taught to the learners. They worked on the topic exploited from the unit of this book. the participants selected for the study was ۶۰ participants out of ۹۰ from Adyban English language institute, Ahvaz, Iran based on their performance on the Oxford Quick Placement Test (OQPT). Then, they were divided into two experimental groups (i.e., guided oral presentation and free oral presentation), each of them included ۳۰ participants.Then, a researcher-made pre-test of speaking was given to the participants of both groups. The researcher taught the guided oral group through using guided oral presentation while the participants of the free oral group were taught by employing free oral presentation.After the treatment, Data were analyzed through independent and paired samples t-test employed to see if there are significant differences between the groups’ means.The statistical method was done through descriptive and inferential statistics through IBM SPSS ,version ۱۷. The results of Paired and Independent Samples t-test showed that the guided oral group outperformed the free group on the post-test.It can be concluded that using guided oral presentation is an effective tool for helping students to improve their speaking skill.Finally, Implications of the study were are recommended to establish relaxing encouraging environments, so as to promote the students' communicative skills.
