evolution of delvari arch dam

Raeis-Ali-Delvari, a double curvature thin arch dam on the Shahpoor River, is under design and construction. The dam is a part of the civil works for the irrigation and flood control purposes. This paper has shown an historical briefing of the project, the different design alternatives considered and characteristics of final solution adapted. The aspects involved in the design process, specially: type of the dam, dam axis location, the static and dynamic analysis of dam-foundation-reservoir system, and finally the stability analysis of abutments.
