Photocatalytic degradation of Malachite Green by Sr۳MxAl۲O۶+δ ﴾M=None, Sm۳+, Eu۳+, Ho۳+ and Yb۳+) nanomaterial as an excellent and recyclable photocatalyst

As reported in our previous work, Sr۳Al۲O۶ nano powders were synthesized by a one-step solid state reaction using Al﴾NO۳)۳.۶H۲O, Sr﴾C۲H۳O۲)۲ and Sr﴾NO۳)۲ at ۸۰۰ and ۹۰۰ ̊C for ۸ h. For the synthesis of Sr۳MxAl۲O۶+δ ﴾M= Sm۳+, Eu۳+, Ho۳+ and Yb۳+) nano powders, Al﴾NO۳)۳.۶H۲O, Sr﴾NO۳)۲, Eu۲O۳, Ho۲O۳ and Yb۲O۳ were used at ۸۰۰ ̊C for ۸ h. In the present work, the photocatalytic performance of Sr۳MxAl۲O۶+δ ﴾M=None, Sm۳+, Eu۳+, Ho۳+ and Yb۳+) nanomaterials were investigated for the degradation of Malachite Green (MG) water pollutant in aqueous solution under direct white visible light irradiation with the light power ۴۰ W. The optimum conditions were obtained by design expert software for (۵%) Al۲O۳ - (۹۵%) Sr۳Al۲O۶ (S۱). It was found that the optimum conditions were ۰.۲ mL of H۲O۲, ۲۰ mg of catalyst, and ۴۰ min. The initial volume and concentration of MG solution were ۱۵۰ mL and ۱۰۰ ppm, respectively. It was found that Sr۳Al۲O۶ had excellent efficiency under the optimized conditions at the presence of direct visible light irradiation. The degradation yield in the optimized conditions was ۱۰۰ %.
