چکیده مقاله:
Orthodontics is the treatment of irregularities in the teeth and jaws. We use this method to push teeth and jaws to their correct place to improve chewing. The most important issue is to find the best direction, magnitude, and rate of displacement which depends on bone transformations before starting the process. Periodontal Ligament (PDL) is studied around the teeth not only as an elastic material but also as a porous medium. Different modeling methods including material selection are discussed with a simulation of a ۲D model of PDL, tooth, and alveolar bone given in the end. The results show that PDL tissue is capable of adapting itself to three different force profiles, distributing force to reduce the stress on bone and tooth
