Investigation of the Relationship between Internet Addiction and general health of Nurses in Social Security Hospitals of Tabriz

Introduction: Excessive computer use interferes with daily life and carries a risk of addiction and may pose a threat to public health. Therefore, the concept of internet addiction is now considered a social problem. This study was conducted to determine the association between internet addiction and general health among Nurses in Social Security Hospitals of TabrizMethod: This is a descriptive-analytical study in which۵۳ nurses working in the Social Security Hospitals of Tabriz were randomly participated. The data gathering tools were demographic data questionnaire, Young Internet Addiction Standard criterion, Goldberg's General Health (GHQ). The data were analyzed via the SPSS software. The data were analyzed by descriptive (mean and frequency) and analytical (Chi-square, Fisher) tests. Significance level of ۰.۰۵ was consideredFindings: According to the findings, ۶۱% of health nurses were desirable. ۹۲% of nurses do not have Internet addiction. Also, according to Chi-square, there is a significant relationship between general health and internet addictionConclusion: The results of this study showed that the lack of addiction to the Internet could be one reason for the general health of the nurses. Therefore, it is recommended for educational programs to motivate nurse towards correct methods of Internet use.
