چکیده مقاله:
Rangeland plants are one of the richest sources of bioactive organic chemicals in terrestrialecosystems. The active metabolites like Phytochemicals from the natural rangeland-medicinalplants were under exploration for the development of novel and biodegradable effective drugsas an alternative to the ineffective contemporary medicine. The herbal leaves and stems ofPergularia tomentosa are used to treat fever, antirheumatic, and some skin diseases as alaxative, abortive, asthma, etc. Therefore, phytochemical properties of twigs of P. tomentosaobtained from ethanol extracts were investigated in this research. We investigated thephytochemical properties of twigs of P. tomentosa (growing in southern Iran) obtained fromethanol extracts through Gas Chromatographic Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and thebioactive components were identified as well. The results showed the presence of steroids, alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids and absence of tannins in the ethanolextracts. In addition, the GC-MS results showed the presence of a number of bioactivephytocompounds like D-Altrose, Gluconic acid, Palmitic acid, Oleic acid, Squalene ,Vitamin E,Campesterol, gamma sitosterol, alpha Amyrin, Isocyanoneopupukeanane, beta Amyrin methylether, Lupeol acetate, (Z) ۲.۳-dihydro-۱H-cylonona biphnylene, Aristolone and ۴.۷-Benzofurandione. The highest peak area (%۱۶.۸۰) was obtained by Beta-Amyrin methyl ether andthe lowest peak area (%۰.۰۷) was obtained by Linoleic acid. We concluded that the twigs ofP. tomentosa could be used for treatment of various ailments.
