چکیده مقاله:

Nowadays, the use of biopolymers in food packaging applications has shown great interest due to their biodegradability, biocompatibility, non-toxicity, etc. Biocomposites based on polyesters, polysaccharides and their blends have been considered as suitable choices because of their good properties for food packaging films. In this way, the characteristics of a packaging film should be included sufficient water and oxygen permeability, good barrierity, controlled biodegradability and high antibacterial properties. Therefore, by adjusting the ratio of polysaccharides to polyesters and their compositions, these properties can be attained. In this mini review, we describe the recent developments on poly (lactic acid) and chitosan films as well as their blends as efficient and active packaging materials with an emphasis on meat and prawn products.
