چکیده مقاله:

Take in to account of several application of industrial composite structures, failure prediction of composites have significant role in safe design of the structures. In this context, the available isotropic criteria with high accordance with experimental tests can be extracted for orthotropic fracture prediction. In the present research, a theoretical and experimental approach has been made to extract the orthotropic fracture criteria based on the important isotropic based criteria including the MSS. Moreover, it is assumed that the fracture in orthotropic occurs in the isotropic matrix in which, the fibers modeled as reinforcements by considering Reinforcement Adapting Modeling (RAM) assumption. RAM indeed implies the independency of orthotropic fracture properties in mixed mode (I/II) loading and represent as some factors. Furthermore, an experimental procedure was considered for validation of the proposed criteria by examining the orthotropic and highly orthotropic materials like PMC and wood specimens, respectively. The results indicate that the presented criterion was in good agreement with the experimental results.
