Green supply chain in construction industry

Due to environmental issues in today's world, preservation and optimum use of resources and energy, and efforts to reduce pollution seem to be essential. Hence, considering environmental aspects together with traditional supply chains become more important. Global pressures also oblige organizations to produce products and provide eco-friendly services. Therefore, further accountability toward the environment was strategically prioritized by governments, organizations and companies. Given the rising growth of the construction industry and the widespread role of the industry in the environmental pollution, environmental aspects of its supply chain should be taken into consideration. This study addressed the concept and dimensions of green supply chain in the construction industry with an emphasis on the advantages and outcomes of greening the chain to discuss the necessity of choosing this managerial approach. Studies on green supply chain were also reviewed in the related literature.
