چکیده مقاله:

In this work, chitosan nano-emulsion particle (CNP) with a negative or positive surface charge was prepared through electrostatic interaction of an anionic gelation complex with a cationic polyelectrolyte, namely chitosan solution (CS) (particle size 86nm, degree of deacetylation 88.1%). The ability of chitosan, derived from deacetylated shrimp shell chitin, to remove reactive dyes from effluent solution by adsorption has been studied. Equilibrium isotherms for the adsorption of two reactive dyes, Reactive Blue 19 (RB19), Reactive Black 5 (RB5) on chitosan and chitosan nano-emulsion particle were measured experimentally. Results were analyzed by the Langmuir and Freundlich equation using a linearized correlation coefficient. The Langmuir isotherm fits the experimental data significantly better than the other isotherms. Adsorption kinetics data were tested using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. The data agreed very well with the pseudo second-order kinetic model
