Controlling Home Appliances using NodeMCU and Blynk

Home automation is an important milestone that is becoming prominent due to its various points of interests. Advancements in technologies have emerged the smart homes, which are realized either by local system administration or through remote control. Despite the advantages of smart homes, e.g. Comfort, energy efficiency, and better security, they are rarely applied in Iran due to the cost and difficulty of accessing to devices. This paper aims at designing a smart home system using ESP8266, Motion sensor, DHT11 sensor and BH1750 sensor. The system is able to monitor and control the lights, alarms, and other household appliances; which, it turns a customary home to a smart home that remotely accesses and controls the devices and appliances using web server and application.
