Investigation of the status of health, safety and environmental performance (HSE) and its relationship to job stress

Background and Aim: Today, each organization needs healthy and proficient human force toimprove and develop its performance. Using Health, Safety, and Environment Management System(HSE-MS) to control employees’ job stress is among the effective factors in the success oforganizations. This can eliminate all parallel activities and lead to balance in the organization’s currentaffairs. It can also increase productivity by motivating employees. This study aimed to evaluate theHSE status in printing and packaging industries in Pooyesh and Daikat companies in Kermanshah.Materials and Methods: The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 80 personnel ofPooyesh and Daikat printing industries selected through census. The data were gathered usingdemographic information, job stress, and HSE performance questionnaires. Then, the data wereentered into the SPSS 21 software and were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlationcoefficient.Findings: The results showed that the mean score of safety was significantly higher in DaikatCompany than in Pooyesh Company. The results also showed a significant correlation between jobstress and HSE performance in Daikat Company. Finally, job stress was high in both companies.Conclusion: More attention is recommended to be paid to HSE management in industrialenvironments, especially the printing industry.
