چکیده مقاله:

Today, many studies are happening around the diseases that occur during the elderly. Today we know osteoporosis as a health problem in the elderly, affecting millions around the world and with rising of the average age in societies, the importance of that days become more. In this study, we have tried to reduce the risk of osteoporosis by examining several important factors in bone health such as Zn, Cu, NO and TAC. In this study, people who they were over 60 years old who have been referred to the Amirkola Demography Center have been selected to participate in the project with respect to ethical issues, and 84 were selected by cluster random which 51 (60.7%) were selected they were male and 33 (39.3%) were women. From the subjects, 15 ml of blood sample was taken from the vein fasting and after serum separation by centrifugation at a freezing point of 80 œ C. For all, bone mass density was measured in 2 sites of femur and lumbar vertebrae DEXA method was used. Also, biochemical factors such as copper (biochemical factors) and NO, TAC were evaluated using Elisa's Zelbio-German In this study, the mean serum level of trace elements in the patient group (osteopenia and osteoporosis) was lower than the control group. Also, levels of TAC and NO in the osteopenia and osteoporosis group were increased compared to the control group. Considering the increased risk factors in today's modern societies, the use of Cu, Zn supplements can be effective in preventing osteoporosis in middle aged women. It is also recommended that a diet rich in antioxidant be considered as one of Osteoporosis prevention approaches can be important and valuable.
