Application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) For Assessment of Technical Requirements to Meet Dell Lap Top Customers’ Needs

According to intense competition in the global market of today’s world, paying attention to the customer requirements plays an important role in the success and survival of a company. Firms' strategies should be planned in a way that can fulfill these requirements. The objective of the current study is to analyze the customer needs of Dell product lap top and the technical requirements to meet them by applying Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The needs of Dell lap top customers were gathered and rated using questionnaire which were distributed among 300 of Dell users who were using different types of Dell lap top having different specifications. The resulted importance rates let the study to conclude that the technical requirements of “using two separated VGA (video graphics array) for on battery use and plugged in use” and “using standard hardware parts especially for the motherboard” are more important than the other requirements for meeting customer needs.
