Introduction: One of the most significant effects of technology in the field of nursing on the quality and manner of providing health services by nurses is the creation of electronic health records, which has made significant changes in documentation by having information received by individual health care providers and recording them in the form of computer files. . Exchanging information and increasing the quality of the nursing role, despite its barriers and limitations, is essential.Methods: The present study is a review article, and in compiling it, an internet search in relevant articles registered since 2011 with the keywords of an electronic file, nursing, health information technology, health from various databases such as sid, magician, google scholar has been used. In this regard, among the scientific-research articles found, after reviewing their titles and abstracts, confirming their relevance and non-repetition, 16 articles were finally selected. Results: In this study, 21 Persian articles were found, which were reviewed after 16 articles. With the implementation of such an essential plan, individuals' comprehensive and integrated information is provided to nurses in electronic files, which is an excellent alternative to time-consuming paper files that allow nurses to access this information faster. Among the challenges of this plan for nurses are the lack of sufficient, efficient equipment to provide documentation, lack of familiarity with the patient information registration system, and lack of data exchange standards.Conclusion: Electronic health records will provide nurses with crucial medical information by removing obstacles and creating necessary infrastructure by the government to increase the quality of medical services and care provided by nurses, reduce their fatigue and save time for each We will be sick.
