چکیده مقاله:
Background: Cardiovascular disease is one of the most important public health issues in the world, including Iran. In the past few decades, the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases have markedly decreased in several countries, hence the quality of life become an outstanding subject. On the other hand, major depressive disorder (MDD) is a prevalent and disabling psychiatric disease. Researches showed a strong correlation between these two diseases. Due to the fact that there is new methods to cure MI and post-MI depression can increase disability and mortality rate, early diagnosis of depression become significant. Methods: In this study we gather the information of 200 MI patient about their depression mood and hs-CRP in one month after their attack. We use Beck depression inventory II Scale (BDI-II) to evaluate depressive symptoms. Besides, for statistical analysis we use Independent sample t test and Pearson correlation test in SPSS 22 software.Findings: We found that 44.2 percent of MI patients is experienced more than mild depression. There is negative association between these two diseases. But there is not any meaningful relationship with the level of hs-CRP and carotid intima-media thickness. Conclusion: The negative relationship between MI and MDD is not completely obvious and we did not know which of them the first is. This limitation might change the result.
