The importance of English language in Iran

English plays an important function in different domains in Iran as foreign language. The English language is widely used in education, business discourse, and media. It seems the further spread of English in different aspects of the everyday lives of Iranian people has been influenced by the mass media and the increasing use of the Internet and social networks. Therefore, this article discusses the importance of English in present-day Iran. The required information for this paperwas obtained from PubMed and Google Scholar. Researched keywords were English language, Iran, education, social media, and business. Overall, the English language in Iran still is very noticeable. Iranian students had very high motivation and positive attitudes towards learning English and they were more instrumentally motivated.
