چکیده مقاله:

In recent years, fiber-optic communication technologies to support an increasingly data-driven community have evolved rapidly. Much progress has been made in finding smart ways to increase the transmission capacity of fiber network infrastructure. Because optical multiplexing is a useful way to accomplish this, researchers have studied optical multiplexing optimization in time (TDM), space (SMX), polarization or phase (PDM), and wavelength (WDM). In this paper, a 2D photonic crystal ring resonator (PCRR) based optical bandpass filter (BPF) is designed to cover the telecommunication bands of coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) systems from 1530 to 1675 nm. The output efficiency and bandwidth of the BPF is investigated through simulation. The simulation results are obtained using the 2D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The size of the device is minimized from a few tens of millimeters to a few micrometers, that would be more suitable for future integrated optics and optical networks.
