چکیده مقاله:

Cities and people’s lifestyle are evolving to become smarter thanks to the progress in new technologies. Transportation system is one of the most important part of this system that is not excluded from this change. New ways of transportation such as smart driverless cars and trucks, air planes and particularly drones, air-cars and air-taxis will revolutionize this sector in a near future. The new technology will provide new means for transportation and will change the way services are provided to the community. Driver less cars are becoming a part of everyday life and Amazon has already tried using drone to deliver parcels to its client successfully. The first air-taxi has been tried in Dubai. But there is a catch, what will happen when air-taxis and personal air-cars become part of our life? How they navigate and get to their destination and avoid other air-vehicles? What are the road rules for these air vehicles? Inevitably, the future smart cities need to legislate new rules to embrace these new technologies. These new air-vehicle also require a new type of three-dimensional navigation system in order to find the best route to their destination. This paper will discuss various potential methods to address these issues and will discuss cons and pros of each method.
