Vibration behavior of the single-stage spur planetary gear system with linear and nonlinear dynamics

In this study, dynamic and vibration of the single-stage spur planetary gear system are studied. The system is modeled as a set of lumped mas and spring. Each element is considered as rigid body and has three degrees of freedom. The planetary gear system is considered as the rotational system and in the rotational system each component has degree of freedom only in the rotational direction. The dynamic of the planetary gear system is selected under nonlinear factors of meshing gears and by using Newton’s second law, equations of motion are presented. In order to evaluate vibration behavior of the linear and nonlinear dynamics of the system, a set of linear and nonlinear equations are numerically evaluated. For the linear system, the influence of the carrier rotational stiffness is evaluated on natural frequencies. For the nonlinear system, by considering mesh stiffness and backlash of meshing gears, vibration behavior of the system is investigated. According to the results, when the output of the system is fixed, the first natural frequency is changed more than 99%. Moreover, jump phenomenon is occurred nearly frequency of 1300 Hz.
