An Introduction to the LCA Approach and Its Functions

Increasing awareness concerning the importance of environmental protection and the consequences of using products, goods, and services at different stages from the beginning and construction to the end of consumption and recycling has led to ways to better understand and study these consequences. One of the methods that have been developed to evaluate the effects and consequences of using the products of goods and services in the life cycle assessment method. In this study, while introducing this method and the steps of evaluating a product, it has been tried to describe in detail concerning the product and services using the life cycle, its applications, and its advantages and disadvantages. Overall, the results of this study showed that life cycle assessment will help policymakers and stakeholders to choose a process that has the least impact on the environment.
