Evaluation and Ranking of Petrochemical Suppliers by SWARA-WASPAS Techniques (A Case Study: PAPCO)

One of the main objectives of supply chain management is to determine if the suppliers have been assessed and chosen in accordance with firms' strategic targets. In recent years, plenty of hybrid models have been suggested to pave the way for decision-makers to evaluate and select the best suppliers. This paper presents a hybrid MCDM approach, developed by integrating SWARA and WASPAS techniques, to evaluate petrochemical suppliers of a stationery manufacturer (PAPCO) in Iran. First, a set of evaluation criteria was proposed; then the SWARA method was applied to find out the relative Weight of criteria based on experts' insights,finally the WASPAS technique was implmented to evaluate and prioritize the suppliers. For this case study, the results indicate that price, quality, and ontime delivery are the most important criteria among the others; likewise, suppliers A1, A4, and A2 have been ranked as the top-priority petrochemical suppliers for PAPCO decision-makers
