چکیده مقاله:

From a historical viewpoint, we barely encounter a drama ranging from ancient Greek and Rome tragedies to postmodern writings where nature and its surroundings are presented as an essential event, rather than just as a background. The role of nature in drama can be considered somehow as "other" if the former is assumed to lack a special place in the latter. It seems complicated to defining "other" itself as it is inferior to life and its source simultaneously.Using a comparative approach, this study examines the presence of nature (other) in dramas and poems of great Eastern and Western litterateurs, which have been classified by "climate" and "environment" indicators. Moreover, by analyzing the ecological discourse of these works, this study finally proposes to balance the boundaries between "self" and "other" in drama. The "other" is studied comparatively in two types of texts to compensate for the absence of nature in dramatic works. Besides, based on the information provided, this study takes a step toward "eco-dramaturgy." Thus, there will be an eco-oriented aesthetic approach to theater besides the dominant human-centered one
