چکیده مقاله:

Liquefaction of soils defines as a significant reduction in shear strength and stiffness due to an increase in pore water pressure. This phenomenon can occur in fine -grained soils such as low plasticity silts and silty clays. However, in each fine-grained soil, the inherent variability of the soil parameters and available methods indicates that this problem is a stochastic problem rather than being deterministic. In this paper, the reliability analysis of liquefaction of saturated low plasticity silts and silty clays assessed by two methods. For this purpose, a real site is considered, and the probability density function (pdf) of the safety factor for the site is calculate using Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS). More reliable model is determined based on their safety factor reliability index.
