چکیده مقاله:
The emergence of Covid-19 since December 2019 has dramatically affected financial markets and economies across the world, especially in United States. This paper aims at investigating the detrimental effect of Covid-19 mainly in United States and Iran which caused the financial crisis in all over the world. The returns and volatilities of some major capital markets of different countries will be calculated and examined by EGARCH 1 method along with some principal commodities such as oil, gold and bitcoin. We will also examine the relationship of different financial securities and number of cases of Covid-19 in the world using bivariate regression model. We perform this study under 6 time intervals before and after the pandemic. Then we analyze the performance of miscellaneous financial markets in some top economic countries under the influence of the spread of the virus. The Iran’s financial markets (capital market, gold and US dollar exchange markets) will be evaluated separately due to the exceptional economic environment and other economic factors such as sanctions and high inflation rate. Our findings demonstrate that some countries have taken the best policies to contain the virus and a number of others have taken some measures and initiatives to uphold the businesses and their markets which will result in alleviating the negative impact of pandemic on their economy
