چکیده مقاله:
Azo dyes are the most important and largest category of dyes that are widely used. These dyes are classified as mono azo, di-azo, and poly azo in terms of the number of azo groups. The most distinctive feature of these dyes is having one or more azo N≡N groups .These dyes are carcinogenic to both animals and humans. Various microorganisms, including fungi, have been used to biodegradation of these dyes. Biological decomposition is an affordable way to eliminate azo dyes .This study aimed to isolate and identify the Acid Violet 7 degrading fungus, which appeared as a mould on persimmon fruit. This fungal strain showed a great ability to decolorize at pH 7 and 30°C after 10 days. The results of UV–Vis analyses indicated that decolorization was due to biodegradation.
