Development of a suitable model for crude oils and petroleum cuts optimum blending

the main objective in oil refining is to convert a wide variety of crde oils into valuable final products. One of the most important aspects in refinery production planning is optimum blending of crude oils and refinery petroleum cuts. The economic and operability benefits associated with obtainin better quality and less expensive blends and at the same time making a more effective use of the available resources over time are numerous and significant.in this research a computer model was developed which contains defferent sections for crude oil characterization calculation of blended crude properties and optimum blending of petroleum cuts. several experiments were carried out on individual and blended crudes and the physical properties were measured and compared with the calculated results to validate the model. the main crude properties which considered were boiling point curve, fractional specific gravity fractional sulfur, bulk viscisity, RVP, pour point , metal content, bulk sulfur and bulk nitrogen content .
