Novel Approach to Address Carbonate Evaluation Problems of Ahwaz Bangestan Reservoir Using Cyclolog Software

applying the voncepts of global cyclostratigraphy , so called spectral trend (of INPEFA) curves , which show uphole changes in the waveform properties of the wireline logs are used to generate a framework of near - synchronous well - to - well correlations with cyclolog software. the ahwaz oil field is one of the largest in south west iran . the bangestan reservoir in this field , with a suitable amount of oil in place and good rock reservoirs has been selected for the present research work. using this approach , we have subdivided the cretaceous succession of bangestan reservoir in to four first -order stratigraphic packages, from bottom to top. most of these packages can be further subdivided into second -order packages. taking the resolution of this scheme down to a few tens of meters , or even to a few meters , these packages have been identified in a total of over 10 wells in the onshore ahwaz field to establish the best correlation possible for reservoir zonation.
