چکیده مقاله:

Composite components with holes or cut-outs of various sizes and shapes are frequently used as load bearing members in various engineering structures. The presence of stress concentrators causes substantial perturbation of the stress and strain field in the structure under service loads. Therefore it is of great practical interest to accurately analyze the load bearing capacity of these structures. In this paper, the distributions of stresses and deflection in rectangular composite plates with two different type of cut-outs (square and triangular) under transverse static loading has been studied using finite element method. The results are obtained for three different boundary conditions as well as four geometrical ratios. Two different types of materials are used for whole analysis to find the sensitivity of stress concentration with elastic constant. The influence of various locations and orientations (θ) on stress concentration factor (SCF) is investigated. It is shown that boundary condition type is very important for the prediction of the stress concentration factors since the location of maximum stress concentration is dependent on the boundary condition. The numerical analysis is carried out by ANSYS software.
