Identification and ranking of the barriers affecting development of the WELL building standard application

Nowadays, indoor environment quality (IEQ) is more important to users than the past. New standards like the WELL building standard focusing on IEQ and trying to make a better quality for people who spend more than 90% of their lives indoors. Although, such standards have long been proposed and used in European and American countries, their application has not been widely developed in Iran. In this research, barriers have been identified and then prioritized by statistical analysis. Based on the results obtained, there are ten effective obstacles that are the cost of implementing projects based on the WELL building standard, the lack of similar projects and the weakness in the incentives to implement these projects (such as loan, tax rebate, etc.) are the most important barriers.
