Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is one ofthe approaches that improves the efficiency of renewable energieswith the load matching between their cells and the load. Renewableenergy have a variety such as wind turbine, photovoltaic cells (PV)and etc. this research is based on photovoltaic systems to designbattery charging circuit. These mechanism used in Iran as the mainperformance evaluation of radiation forecasting. The key problem inIran’s photovoltaic systems is that it does not achieved much powerand radiation which is due to the fact that the power of photovoltaiccells is affected by various weather conditions such as sun radiationand temperature or rainy and cloudy weather. So the MaximumPower Point (MPP) can be changed during the day and in theseasons especially in Iran. Therefore, it is essential to provide asuitable controller based on a method for performance evaluation inthe field of energy and radiation, which is called the MaximumPower Point Tracking. The aim of this work is applying an isotropicmethod based on fuzzy logic PID controller with Firefly Algorithmto optimize MPPT of Iran’s photovoltaic systems in any climatecondition for battery charging circuit. The main reason to proposethis method is some defects in previous controllers such as lowstability, sensitive to a high frequency noise and low efficiency andof course, for optimizing energy and radiation. Simulation done inMATLAB platform in both command window and Simulink. Theresults reveal that the proposed controller which name FPID-FA hasmore efficiency and better dynamic response in comparison to othermethods to charging batteries.
