چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Burns, as one of the most important causes of death and disability, cause socio-economic and psychosocial injuries in different societies that require both physical and mental rehabilitation in addition to the treatment of burns. Natural materials have long been used to heal wounds, especially given the slow process of healing. Methods : This article is an overview based on the results of various studies on the effect of antioxidants on burn wound healing. Results : Antioxidants of medicinal plants can be used in wound healing, therapeutically, and protect tissues from oxidative damage. For example, the role of oleic acid in olive oil in inflammatory responses to wound healing has been proven and its phenolic compounds have antioxidant properties that ultimately lead to increased tissue regeneration. The same properties exist in the extract of cottonseed, in wound healing. Seeds, chamomile, and herb also accelerate burn wound healing because of their anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea reduces the duration of wound healing and burns due to epine-catechin gallate. Flavonoids in the purslane plant are also wound healing. Natural honey can also reduce the inflammation of burn wounds. Conclusion : All the effects of burns restoration are due to the positive antioxidant properties of plants. Therefore, regeneration and healing of burn wounds should be considered as an adjunctive medicine.
