ماریا شبیری فارغ التحصیل دکترای آموزش زبان انگلیسی از دانشگاه اکلند-دانشگاه تهران است که در حال حاضر مدرس دانشگاه تهران می باشد. ایشان در سال ۲۰۱۴ موفق به اخذ بورسیه تحقیق دانشگاه اکلند و در سال ۲۰۲۴ موفق به اخذ اقامت دائم نخبگان آمریکا شدند. ( EB2NIW Green Card). در سال ۲۰۲۵ ایشان به عنوان پژوهشگر پسادکترا در پروژه مشترک دانشگاه تهران - دانشگاه تنسی ایالات متحده مشغول به کار شدند.
