چکیده

Aims Secondary trauma is a psychological consequence of direct andprolonged contact with a post-traumatic stress disorder person. Thepurpose of this study was to Compare the effectiveness of mindfulnessbased cognitive therapy (MBCT) and treatment based on acceptanceand commitment therapy (ACT) on reducing anxiety and depression inwomen with post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the accident, withcontrolling the effect of depression, anxiety and stress. Methods: In thisquasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest with control groupdesign, 36 women of post-traumatic stress disorder caused by theaccident referred to Modarress Psychiatric Hospital of Esfahan, Iran in2015 were studied. The people who have attained high score on thesecondary trauma test were randomly assigned to two experimentalgroups and one control group. The research instruments were ademographic questionnaire, questionnaire of secondary post-traumaticstress, and questionnaire of depression, anxiety and stress. Theinterventions (Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and acceptancecommitment therapy) in the experimental group were 8 weeks and oncea week, the control group did not receive any training. The analysis ofdata was performed by covariance. Conclusion: The findings from thestudy showed that the intervention based on acceptance andcommitment therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy fordepression and anxiety have had significant effect (P< 0/05), ButMindfulness-based cognitive therapy in reducing anxiety significantlymore effective than treatment is based on acceptance and commitment(P< 0/05). The results of this study showed that both interventions canbe effective in reducing depression and anxiety.
