چکیده

Along with the onset of the Industrial Revolution, invention of automobiles and city expansions, the priority for pedestrian and pedestrian-oriented spaces in cities and urban spaces gradually faded away and general quality of city's public areas, open urban spaces and sidewalks reduced. These areas in which were the context and the source of contact, played a pivotal role in the promotion of contacts, communications and social interactions between citizens. In this regard, ignoring the human scale and pedestrian needs are the challenges we face, so that shortage and lack of quality in sidewalks weakens the presence and social interactions of the citizens. So, there is a necessity for recognizing the influential factors on the quality of these spaces for responding to citizens' needs in order for enhancing the presence of citizens and their social interactions. Home and neighborhood is like the origin of the world. According to the rule of phenomena's interactions, we can claim that the phenomena of residents' health and the quality of open and closed spaces between residential complexes are connected with each other. In the current research, we reviewed the role of pedestrian-orientation in designing residential complexes and residents' health and the effect of environmental form on pedestrian-orientation and the importance of this matter
