چکیده :

In the early years of this period, Iran and South Africa established a strong foundation for trade, driven by energy exports from Iran and industrial imports from South Africa. This thesis critically examines economic diplomacy between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of South Africa over the past two decades, focusing particularly on the substantial impact of international sanctions and internal inefficiencies. By employing qualitative methods, such as thematic analysis and interviews with experts in trade and diplomacy, the study captures the depth and complexity of Iran-South Africa economic relations. The findings provide a comprehensive analysis of Iran South Africa economic relations over the past two decades, emphasizing the complex interplay of external and internal factors that have shaped their bilateral trade dynamics. It confirms the hypothesis that international sanctions, have been the primary obstacle, compounded by internal inefficiencies such as limited trade diversification and weak institutional support. Ultimately, the conclusions and Strategic recommendations emphasize to aim not only enhance Iran-South Africa economic diplomacy but also the need for policy reform, institutional strengthening, trade diversification, enhanced private sector involvement, and leveraging multilateral frameworks such as BRICS to mitigate sanctions and enhance economic resilience. This comprehensive analysis not only contributes to academic discourse on economic diplomacy under geopolitical constraints but also provides actionable insights for policymakers, diplomats, and business leaders dedicated to strengthening Iran South Africa economic relations and maximizing bilateral opportunities.
