Background: Malaria still remains a public health problem in Iran. Malaria vector control is main role to control of diseases. Ivermectin is a medication used to treat many types of parasite infestations. Considering the mosquito’s resistance to insecticides and malaria parasites to drug, this study was aimed to investigate the impacts of ivermectin on Anopheles stephensi, the main malaria vector in Iran.Objectives: This study was done to investigate the impacts of ivermectin on Anopheles stephensi, the main malaria vector in Iran..Materials and Methods: The impact of ivermectin were studied in three groups, including oral, subdermal injection and control among 6 mail calves. Four replicate considered for each groups. This study was carried out in Kovveh village, located in north of Bandar Abbas area, Hormozghan Province. In each replicated one male calf selected as the bait covered by one un insecticides treated bed net and female mosquitoes were collected from sunset to sunrise by baited bed net trap collection. The experiments were done in one-consecutive generations in the field condition.Results: It can be concluded that ivermectin was effective in the mortality, infertility and unlatching of Anopheles stephensi in field trial studyConclusion: It is the first formal entomological research which defines effects of Ivermectin on An. stephensi in Iran. Ivermectin administration, as a potential to be a complementary tool to reduce malaria transmission, and suggested in a field trial study
