چکیده

Introduction: Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women after lung cancer, and surgery is considered to be a major pillar of breast cancer. Breast surgery, like any other surgery, has serious complications.Materials and Methods: All information in this review study was collected by referring to the scientific databases of Google Scholar, Magiran, PubMed, Scopus and Web of science by searching for keywords of breast cancer, breast reconstruction and breast surgical complications. Then, 15 articles that met the inclusion criteria were evaluated.Results: Breast cancer accounts for 50 percent of all cancers in women and more than 40,000 deaths per year. The risks of complications after breast surgery is vary according to the procedure. These complications generally include respiratory problems, wound infection, seroma, pneumothorax, bleeding, neurovascular injury, operative scar, lymphedema, DVT, heart problems and septicemia.Conclusion: The complication of the wound after breast surgery is one of the most common surgical wounds. In general, breast cancer surgeries are very safe and the mortality rate is very low. Given the high prevalence of breast cancer among women, understanding the complications associated with breast surgery can be a great help to the patient, family and medical staff associated with it, as well as educating patients and providing necessary advice to staff. It is effective in preventing and reducing the incidence of complications.
