چکیده

Background and Objectives: Pseudomonas is a gram negative bacterium with different virulence factors which cause disease, especially in people who are immunocompromised. The organism could cause bacteremia, bone, gastric-enteric and systemic infections in patients with organ transplantation and cancer. In addition, this organism is an important bacterium which cause nosocomial infection and due to less permeability of drug and different mechanisms of bacteria, nowadays it is introduced as an important resistant bacteria to the antibiotics. Materials and Methods: Although Abu Ali Cina Hospital is one of the most important transplantation hospitals, presence of this organism and determination of antibiotic resistance pattern of isolates is very critical, therefore, in this study 252 samples including: wound, CSF, Sputum and urine were collected from patients admitted to the hospital and transferred to the microbiological lab. The samples were inoculated to the Blood agar and EMB media, and then the purified isolates were identified using different tests including: Catalase, Oxidase, growth on Simmon citrate, TSI and SIM media. Afterward, antibiotic resistance patterns of the isolates on Muller Hinton agar were evaluated using: Amikacin, Ciprofloxacine, cephalexin, ceftriaxone, tetracycline, sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim, imipenem, colistin and cefotaxime according to the CLSI 2019 protocol and the data were analyzed by Who net version 2018. Results: The results obtained from this study indicated that out of 30 pseudomonas isolates the frequencies of occurrence of the samples were: 50% urine, 20% sputum, 16.6% wound and 13.3% CSF. The most isolates belong to the urine samples and the least belong to the CSF. All of the isolates were resistant to most of the antibiotics. In addition, the isolated bacteria from urine were more resistant than the others. Furthermore, all of the isolates were resistant to gentamycine, CFM and LEX. Conclusion: Although most of the people admitted to this hospital are immune deficient patients and pseudomonas is an opportunistic bacterium, detection of this organism from patients and determination of antibiotic resistant pattern could help the medicine team for more effective treatment.
