In this study, a multi-layered Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA) column for gas dehydration services is optimized. All of the investigations are based on a proposed mathematical model while considering velocity variation and pressure drop throughout the vessel. Langmuir isotherm and Peng-Robinson equation of state are used to predict water adsorption equilibrium and gas behaviour, respectively. The coupled PDEs are solved by Gear method using MATLAB version 2015a. Results of the mathematical model are verified by experimental data reported by Farag et al. [1] and an acceptable agreement is observed between experimental data and simulation results. Studued multi-layered dehydration column consists of three bed layers; activated alumina (3.0-6.0 mm), large size molecular sieve 3A (2.5-5.0 mm) and small size molecular sieve 3A(2.0-3.0 mm). The height of each layer is a critical mater which should be taken into consideration and can enhance dehydration efficiency significantly. Eventually, according to the validated model, the effect of each layer’s height on fresh zone height, outlet water content and pressure drop is studied.
