چکیده

Early seizure control optimized behavioral, cognitive, and social outcomes are an important issues in the management of epilepsy in children and adults.Impact of poor seizure control may affect children much more than adults due developmental issue and developing nervous system in kids. On the other hand Children are not small adults and the study of adults do not necessarily applies children. The following issues are point of concern differ with adults in respect the age spectrum. in the management of childhood epilepsies which are discussed in this paper. 1. Differential diagnosis of epilepsy in children nonepiletic movements and behaviors known as seizure mimickers such as jittering in neonatal period, breath holding attacks,masturbatory movements, tick disorders and sleep problems are some examples not usually seen in adults. 2.reactive seizures are much more frequently seen in children than adults, age specific presenation of some seizures such as those seen in neonatal period, febrile seizures ,infantile spasm, lennox syndrome,Rolandic seizure and childhood absence and among these. 3.Etiologic factors are another issue which differentiates children and adults ,developmental anomalies of brain ,prenatal,perinatal and postnatal insults immature brain ,genetic and metabolic are another issue seen in this regard. 4.Therapeutic strategies considering underling disease, age, sex, development and quality of life are another issue of concern.
